We offer coaching sessions for boys and girls aged 5 to 16 of mixed abilities every Sunday from September to March with a break for the Christmas period in December. Within the season there are regular friendly matches for those aged 7 to 12 and league matches for those aged 13 to 16.
We are a family friendly Club that pride ourselves on not only providing good quality coaching but promote self confidence, being part of a team and making new friendships. As the boys and girls progress, we aim to introduce them to adult club matches on a Saturday where they will continue to develop their understanding and love of the game.
The Youth Membership fees for the 2024 - 25 season are £90 with membership payments needing to made via our website (see Shop above). We also offer a Family Membership whereby if a family have more than one child or a parent is a full playing member, then the addition of a subsequent child membership would be £80.
If you would like to give a hockey a go you will be able to attend your first few sessions without commitment.
Our training sessions take place on a Sunday at one of three locations listed below.
Our sessions are led by a number of qualified and DBS certified coaches. Each age group will have their own appointed coaches who are all members of Burnt Ash.
We are always keen to try and involve parents in the Club as much as possible and we value your support. We also actively look to recruit parents who would like to help out with other aspects of the Club for example, running social events, umpiring or helping out in the kitchen.
We also have a dedicated Welfare Officer for the Youth Section; Michelle Cooke and we adopt the England Hockey guidelines on protecting and safeguarding young people in sport. Further information, polices and guidelines can be obtained in the documents section of our website. The Club also holds a Clubmark accreditation, which is awarded by England Hockey to those Clubs who are able to demonstrate that they meet the criteria with regard to playing programme, child protection, sports equity and ethics and club management. Clubmark is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in hockey.
If you have any questions please contact our Youth Section Chair, Mark Plowright.
