Go on, admit it, you read the report last week, didn’t you? I thought we had something special, that we had an understanding, a long future stretching out in front of us full of witty bylines. Yet I turn my back for a minute, and you are canoodling with another author.
It’s fine, I understand, I’ll move on, it’s you, not me.
So on a day when some professional sport people thought it was a bit too cold, wet and windy to do their jobs, Streatfields steam roller flattened the hardcore at Hurstmere, lord knows it needs something, for a clash against K Sports.
Building on last weeks fantastic performance but very mediocre match report, the fours came out the trap like a greyhound who had just discovered Colmans mustard. With Billane (thanks Arsenal and yes I am nicking “eggs” joke) leading the line and bringing others in at every chance, the home side were 5 up within 20 minutes. Gorgeous George once again extolling the team ethos, it seemed that no-one wanted to score more than once, it might be quicker to tell you who didn’t score, but I did say two weeks ago, before you betrayed me, that if you score you will get a mention. Enter the wet dragon Tom, the equally wet Dragon Will, Tyler, Brown the elder and Dash.
Perhaps next game we should allow scoring more than once, as the score should have been closer to 8 or 9, but we will take the three point beamers. The hockey was excellent, professional, good game management and going forward we were electric, with PoM Dash causing absolute chaos all day long.Great to see Groot back playing too and Brown the younger developing at a fantastic rate.
I do also want to mention Callum, who was rock solid again, but is now showing real awareness and command of his D, which every good team needs.
Right, I’m not going to write anything for a few weeks now, I suggest you have a good think about your betrayal and perhaps we can see where we are in the New Year.
Thank you to Gary for organising us and special thanks to Laurence Ball and Mike Course who braved the weather to give us a game.
